Well, it wasn't a dreadful day. I wasn't expecting much, to be honest - and there are a few of you who know why, for reasons beyond the obvious of being trial and working like crazy, with a box due tomorrow morning. (Which I still have to finish, so this won't be too long.) But, other than UPS screwing up my delivery (but then apologizing, so I couldn't be angry with them) and Amazon failing to respond so I could schedule a re-ship (I am angry at them, instead), it wasn't horrible. I had a chat with a friend Re: The Situation, and will have another, with a different friend, over dinner tomorrow, which should help. And there was cake in the Trial Office, for me and one of the co-counsel secretaries, whose birthday is tomorrow.

Then, in the evening, I booked it and got a manicure/pedicure at the spa down here near The Fairmont, which was lovely, and now I'm back at work to finish the last bit of stipulation based summary, then get dinner, and back to grades.

In things I forgot to say -

There was the excitement of a deranged and armed man and hostage situation at the credit union in the Federal Building yesterday, which resulted in police cordons a block away. Our people barely got out before the commotion started, and this delayed yesterday's transcript until today.

Worldcon on Monday was rather fun, occurring before the storm as it did - I attended one panel on Law and Lawyers in the Novels of Heinlein, two on various aspects of Buffy, and wandered the dealers room, acquiring a jewelry piece as a Christmas present for a friend; the Age of Bronze, with a personalized autograph; and some amusingly sarcastic buttons. The afternoon saw a rare shopping adventure! I hit the Santa Clara Mall, emerging with various clothing, HK stickers, and a yoga mat. (I can't exercise at the moment, but I can plan to exercise.)

Oh, and my retired father is coming out next week to help me move apartments, an unusual departure, to say the least.

Then I turned twenty-six, and nothing much changed. But wasn't it a long way down?
